I keep having really bad dizzy spells before I have an anxiety attack anyone else have these after I feel dizzy on and off

Hi,

Dizzyness & lightheadedness is a common occurence. There's a simple explanation really...you are not breathing correctly. There's so much proper breathing can do for us sufferers of anxiety. Breathe deeply in your diaphram and exhale completely and utterly until there is no breath left. You may feel dizzy doing this for the first few times, especially if you are used to shallow and fast chest breathing. It really is the fast and shallow chest breathing that ends up making me and others feel dizzy, and often leads to a panic attack. It's best to try to train your body to deep breath regularly, just try switching from breathing in your chest to breathing from your diaphgram. When you deep breath it helps you relax, so it might be setting off some unecessary anxious feelings.

I suffer from this same thing. Lately its been more intense and has been bothersome. I have noticed however, like Joshua88 said, that I am not breathing correctly. I catch myself holding my breath and also taking really shallow breaths. Try to pay closer attention to it. Then do the diaphragm breathing and it should lessen the dizziness. Also once we get anxious over it, the "fight or flight" response can make the dizziness worse. You will be ok, it will not hurt you though. Accept that please! :)

All to coincidental... I just wrote this and had a huge dizzy spell sitting at my desk that scared me! :)

hey bud i feel your pain , i went to 5 different specialists to see why i was having really bad vertigo spells.. u of m , michigan ear , the ent by me , and a neuro dr.. no answers were found, do you get the spins or have a feeling that you suddenly tilt or sway ... cause thats what my spells feel like.. they only last maybe 5 seconds but i am exhausted after them, i asked my doctors if it could be my meds they said no , i asked them if it could be my anxiety they said absolutely. I on the other hand have a bad neck i cant look up without getting vertigo, high places i get vertigo , when its going to rain i get vertigo but back to you... if you dont know how to do squared breathing also called box breathing here is a link to show you how ( hope links are allowed) http://www.livestrong.com/article/74944-box-breathing-technique/ and hope it helps .. just remember .

I have my biggest work project of the year happening tomorrow. I have over one hundred dancers performing in the Spring Recital for my studio...and an estimated 450+ guest at each of the two shows.

This is a huge responsibility. I must remember choreography, music cues, stage blocking, as well as 'MC' the show.

I have been 'floating' all through this week with the dizzies! I keep remembering to stop and breath...as I subconsciously hyperventilate when I am stressed.

I am working on accepting this symptom, and trying not to react to it, but just observe it and use my coping skills to reverse its effects.

Yes my dizzyness is random and if I look up to fast I get them bad it sucks so much. I also have a weird thing with my breathing I feel like I'm not breathing right and freak out I'm so tired of this

Try feeling anxious every moment for 16 months and chronic dizziness when walking.
