waiting and scared

So I started having this pain in the right side of my abdomen today. I thought it was menstrual cramps but the pain stayed on the right side. Of course I want to go to the er so I'm patiently waiting for my hubby to come home so he can take me. I think I'm pretty calm considering and I'm trying not to consult with Dr Google. So I figured I'd log on and hopethis would take my mind off things while I'm waiting. I just hope its not appendicitis (of course that's the first thing I thought). I know it could be a number of things I just hope its nothing serious. Just waiting to go to the hospital. ...

I am sure that you will be fine. I have had this plenty of times, and it turned out to be gas, or IBS.

Go ahead and get checked out to be on the safe side...but if you are not having nausea and a fever accompanying the pain, you can surely relax a bit.

Sometimes menstrual pain can behave very oddly. My only trip to the ER as an adult was for menstrual pain. It turned out that I was pretty dehydrated, probably from not eating/drinking from the pain. Long story short, two hours later I was headed home and feeling like a million bucks.

When I was young I didn't even mind all the pains that I've encountered. I remember having this intense pain that comes in waves in my stomach for an hour. After those incidents I didn't bother to check it out over the net because google was not yet avail at that time. I don't even care about my mortality as I believed I have more years to come and still feel great for months and years that followed. Now having anxiety everything is different. Mild pains can even make me think something serious is happening with me and I'll not be able to live longer. Makes me feel sick for the following days and can even come back after days of feeling well. I hope everything will be good if not better for all of us. I'm really grateful for this community and pray that all of us will have more faith, strength and peace of mind.

I have friends who had appendicitis and I'm sure you're not having one. As I heard from some of them the pain usually starts from your left side, it's odd because the appendix is located in our right side.

Yey! Glad to hear it's not appendicitis! Now wish you well on bringing down your anxiety level because for sure it went high when you started worrying bout your appendix.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level. JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed. It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.
