Oh boy, this is a doozy!! I'm trying really hard to make it through. I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up in the bathroom vomiting shortly!! Oh lord please give me the strength to get through this. I'm currently feeding the baby and am extremely nausea and hot to say the least. I can't write about all my symptoms or I will get worse and I won't be able to focus at all!!!

I really despise the impending death feeling I have right now!! I should be thinking that is irrational to think I will die with this attack, when I'm actually thinking anything can happen. NO, IT WON'T HApPEN!!! I WILL MAkE IT THRU THIS!!! Ugh, if only in midst this attack I believed this!!
I wish I could close my eyes and make this go away!! But when I do it gets worse!!!

I will make it thru, it's just gonna be difficult this time :/

It's times like this that the ITs of death and the "reality" of something more wrong with me are so overwhelming that I have such difficulty!!!! Ugh....hurry up and pass already!!! I'm scared to have to use my benzo for the first time as the pure thought of another drug in my system....but I may just need it!!!

I did thank you. It took a bit, but I was able to get through it. I did the counting backwards from 21 trick. I never got past 17 before falling asleep briefly then waking up and starting again. After 3x I stayed asleep, my baby girl lay sleeping on me as well. Ty for checking on me!!!

I have realized there is a loose pattern with my attacks. Like I mentioned, most are at night. And most are when my baby wakes up for her first feeding of the night. I also take my medicine at night aprox 1-3 hours before she wakes up. I'm wondering if within that time, something is happening chemically in my body along with trying to get into or out of REM sleep. Or I'm just so tired that when I hear her cry it catches me so off guard it scares me and I go into panic mode?? Idk.

Glad you made it out of it OK. We ALWAYS do. Not sleeping enough or well makes me tired later in the day and that worn out feeling sometimes causes me a little bit of anxiety. Throw a baby on top of lack of sleep and anxiety and its little wonder JJ.

I think that's a good observation you made, there is a lot going on 1-3 hours into your sleep. Maybe getting wrenched out of deep sleep by a crying baby is enough to make anybody anxious! I bet it happens a lot to "the normal people" too. Sounds though like you LOVE your baby, a little anxiety about it crying is totally normal. We just have to learn how to turn down the volume on our reactions which can be completely normal but we blast them at super volume anyway. That's the anxious mind for ya...

I'm glad you are OK after all that. You will always be OK JJ. If your anxiety keeps it up doing the same thing you will beat this no problem. It seems in your case at least you are able to anticipate around what circumstances or trigger you May have a reaction. My advice is to react a little different every time, re assure yourself and say positive affirmations. You will make it thru every time and your brain is gonna realize you can't ve anxious about that anymore.

In the short term I find that guided relaxation really helps me unwind. Try 15-20 minutes before bed, its a great way to fall asleep and let go of the worries of the day. Sometimes I do it when I wake up before work and sometimes I do guided relaxations at work. Either way you are gonna find something that works for you well.

Thanks so much!! I have been wanting to try guided relaxation/imagery. I need to find an app or YouTube video of some. I think it will help.

I do think that being woke up that time period is one trigger....the others....no clue! :/

All I can do is keep working at it and hope sooner than later it goes away.

JJ, about that fear, if it didn't use that to scare us it would have very little power to make us miserable.
I am sorry I didn't catch you when you needed help the most but anybody here can help and you got some
really good one's.

I've started taking my meds 2 hours before bedtime instead of right at bedtime. The last 3 days it has helped! *knock on wood* no attacks. I've also had baby girl snuggling up to me at night so she has been sleeping longer :) I'm trying to get the girls into a routine for when I go back to work in 1.5 weeks :(

Super, love it that you are having a better time of it the last few days. Pat yourself on the back and give yourself credit for this - it's an achievement to be proud of and a step in a really great direction.
