Every once and awhile. Rare I will say. But I can (at least it seems) move my tongue to the back of my throat. Kinda like a head down tongue back. Sometimes it feels like it triggers my gag reflex I'm guessing and I could throw up. Just happened while I was outside with my doggie. Moved my head and tongue just right twice. One more time and I would have thrown up. I don't 'gag'. I just feel like I've gotten sick to my stomach suddenly.

This has happened a couple times before. But this time set me off into the heart attack mode. Thinking it was my worst nightmare. So I hit google for some answers. And of course with something like that couldn't find the right wording. Did find a post about post nasal drip causing a gag reflex problem.

I have bad post nasal drip. No runny nose it just goes the other way.

Or could it of been me? Being overly sensitive? My tummy is hungry and I know I need to eat again. But I don't know if that was the case when it happened before. Its just werid is all. It bothered me before. But I was able to blow it off. This time not so much. Though it is a rather short happening. And I can't seem to reproduce it when I want to..lol figures.

Ok just wondering if this is something I really should have checked out. This is like the 3rd or 4th time this has happened in like 2 years.

Alle I am 71 and I have never heard of anyone dying of such an occurrence, the post naisel drip can keep you
just a little upset to stomach and clearing your throat. Benadryl does work. Peace.

Since it happens very rarely and hasn't killed you, the next time you're at your doctors, ask him about it. 

And stop Googling stuff.

idea  If you're THAT concerned, see your doctor now.

Just happened again. I was already not doing well. Went to rest my head on my desk stomach felt like it was in my throat. And of course this was 5-10 minutes after I had a heart palp. So set me off into a panic attack which I am currently trying to get over.

I've never dealt with nausea before. I'm not one of those that can throw up easily. Its always been something I could really control. Seems I'm losing that battle. Eventually I'm not going to be able to stop it..ugh.

I wish it was just as easy to go see a doctor. I really do. I currently do not have one as the only doc I have ever trusted upped and moved to Cali and left me without anyone I could see. So in roughly 4 years or so I haven't seen one. He worked with me since I do not have insurance. And was affordable for me to see.
Now I'm on my own until I can figure out a way to pay the outrageous prices. I took my daughter in for pink eye spent 15 minutes with the doc cost me 256.00 for a script and to be told it was what I already knew it was.

Until then.. Its google or the E.R and the E.R will look ya over tell ya to go see your doctor. So its not much help there.

Allestaria Google will have you screaming through the streets, everyone on here who ever did that has learned their lesson. Some people have a longer tongue than others, (where in the hell am i going with this)
and they are able to do things like you describe, my neice can actually touch the end of Her nose, but I
think you may be almost touching your gag reflex and its causing you to feel nauseous. Its like the guy who
went to the doctor and said Dock every time I shake my head (he showed the Dr.) it gives me a headache.
The doctor looked at him and said don't do that. 50 dollars please! It's not a condition, I would try not to.

I don't try to do it. Its just an odd position I seem to be getting into. Its really weird. Its new. And seems to be happening more so I was concerned. But of course who isn't with anxiety and new issues. hehe

But I do think you are right Larry. I am hitting the reflex some how some way. And for sure not intentionally. Its just happening. I recently chipped one of my front teeth on popcorn and it has left a rather sharp edge and I've been trying to figure out a way not to scrape my tongue on it as its rather painful when it happens. So I think that might have something to do with it.

So for now I'm trying not to worry about it to much. TRYING is the key word.

Kinda sounds to me like a gulp hard to exsplain but with anxiety I know in the real bad ones,when,nervs kick in&working your body extra hard&mind be raceing I tend to deeply swallow down and yes the nervs tend to make you sick to your tummy. But mostly all mind thinking it's something worse heart palps come from the fear that has set in,with a uh oh something is wrong but it's not I have got to a point where I been through Er so much&know what they will tell me I reather do my best to stay away. Unless it's a 911&then I will go but prayers up for you&many blessings!

Alle my Grandparents raised me and my Grandmother was an Indian, She was very superstitious and told
me when I was about 12 that if you lost a tooth and did not put your tongue in the hole a new tooth would
grow in, lololo. She was a good sweet woman but had so many odd beliefs. I miss Her. Peace.
