Is it normal to constantly feel like your in a daze or a dream?

I'm not sure if this is what you mean or not, but when I was dealing with depression, I often felt like what I would call "in a daze."

I just felt not as sharp, not quite able to connect to things, overly subdued. Kind of like being too sleepy, even though you're awake, if that makes any sense.

I think that's fairly common with depression, but I'm not sure about anxiety. I tend to feel hyper-aware lately.

You may want to ask your care provider about this symptom the next time you go in, but I'm sure you're going to be okay. :)

Normal?   Not in the sense that you should just be resigned to dealing with it.:)

...but a common anxiety symptom? Yes. You may be dealing with derealization/depersonalization.

You will find your symptoms improving with overall reduction of your anxiety/stress load.

Keep working on your therapy and self-help techniques!

I personally never went through that. But it seems these two have so you know that it is normal:) you'll be fine.

I felt like this for a few weeks when I first started taking citalopram.

Well the therapist never gave me anything but I went back to urgent care and because of the IV I have a bacterial infection so I'm on antibiotics my life just can't get any worse anxiety is horrible today

Kortnie, this will all pass, I know is sux right now but someday you will look back and tell someone who
is having a bad time, "I know what it's like", but it will be long since past. You are going to get well
and finish school there is no limit to what you can and will be. People are Praying for You!

Thank you Larry I'm trying my hardest to stay calm but for some reason I just can't I feel like puking they gave me keflek which is.a cousin of penicillin and I'm allergic to penicillin :-( I'm just going crazy! The only thing the therapist told me today was I needed to make an appointment with my pcp to get on medication and he isn't in till Monday ugh my life couldn't possibly her any worse right now

This infection could be why you have been having trouble, when you get it cleared up you might get a good
surprise, for now We both can Pray, I know for a fact God wants to see you well, take the med. drink water
rest Pray some more, it never gets old. I will be around and you know how to reach me and you are no
problem, just use this time to (Be Still and Know that I Am God), not me dear, Him. Peace

This is a more common anxiety symptom for me and by far one of the most bothersome! I had an increase in stress & didn't even realize how much I was affected by it until I permanently felt "in a dream" for about a month straight.

I've since lessened my stress & thank God, its gone. Its a very uncomfortable feeling but it won't hurt you.

Yup I had this too. It helped me a lot to get outta my head and into the present. Reality is what you see and feel not what's on your mind cause my mind works like a circus freak show sometimes and its normal for people to have bizarre thoughts. For us we believe the lies a little more than most people so it can make you feel like you don't know yourself anymore. That's what happens when you start giving credence to the anxiety. As someone wise on this forum said - afterall its just f-ing feelings! So true.
