Sometimes when I'm away from my husband, if he isn't able to talk on the phone, I'll text him random nonsense. Jokes and such. Just makes me feel connected and helps me calm down. Also, sometimes I'll sleep on his pillow or wear his pajamas. lol! I know that sounds sappy but it really does help me.
I've had recurring nightmares since I was a young child - but never when he's in the room while I sleep. Sounds crazy, huh? But it's true.
He doesn't travel out of town, but sometimes he has to work overnight. I'll panic about the nightmares. These little ways of feeling connected help me be a little more calm.
