Inpatient Treatment, anyone?

Ive been in this two times first time was a living h*ll for 4days,for there is always someone worse off then we are. And I rather stayed on the 10floor then locked up in what felt like jail,but this was county so I guess thats what one gets in a county hospital.

2nd time another 4day stay another hospital I had to go to regroup from the 4days in county + over extra stuff my mind wasn't clear at all but Iam happy I went,it help me so much even my small set backs and thinking I should go bacj that place save my life. And I had my own room the whole stay at 2place it was clean&nice more like rehab in a high price hospital that take care of everyone the same,I would say research your stay&know that you will eat when they say it's time to eat. And lights go out around 10 that was at both places,I don't know what state you in and how it goes there with time first place we had reck. Outside games but was behind bars once in there at most place,you can't get out until dr says ok rather 4days are long term care which is more then for days. The first place I went to many women where there old&young to recover from everything,some where family was driving them crazy husbands driving their wife crazy&they where ready to break do whats best for you. And know there is always great help out there&if your dr keep talking about it,she must think it's a good choice&as I told ypu in another post work your way up. With saying thing like I have some help problems I need to take care of,and test that need to be done just please don't wait and end up like me not knowing if you was coming are going thats what sent me in the first time to look for help,and again I wish you the best of luck in your search for help to heal you better.

How about the possibility of an intensive outpatient program?

You would still have to take time off of work...but you could at least still have your homelife uninterrupted.

Look into it if you both agree that this is an option to consider.

I didn't know they did that! That would be awesome. I'll ask her about it. At least I wouldn't have to be separated from hubby and could still take care of pets and errands and such. :D

Even better if they might have a 5-day a week thing. If I could work 2 days a week, I wouldn't be as worried about getting fired.

Yes they do have outpaitent too&some places work with you on best time for you to cone in,at,the end of the day it's up to you&whats best for you and your health.

S.C., there's only one mental healthy facility that my driving phobia would allow me to drive myself to. (And that'll be uncomfortable, but maybe they can help me with that.) They do offer an intensive outpatient program (I just rushed off to look at their website). It doesn't give much detail, though.

Soul, the idea of someone else deciding how long I have to stay freaks me out! People have been trying to help me get well for years. I'm starting to give up on the idea. Wonder if they'd just keep me forever? (Kidding! well, kinda...)

I think I have to figure out something, though. I'm starting to think she's going to call my husband about involuntary committal - and I think he'll do it.

I hope that you can get more info on that facility! That could be just the thing...fingers crossed.

No one can have you committed anymore...this is a thing of the past...so don't you worry about that!

When I started going to therapy, I had to sign this form saying that I understood that if my therapist believed certain things, I understood that she could have me committed through the state with assistance from a family member. That's been freaking me out, because she's mentioning inpatient treatment so much. It really is more depression related (the reason for considering this, I mean, obviously I've got some major panic attacks kicking, lol), but I love all of you guys here, so I wanted to ask in this forum...

Av ~ I so SORRY to hear that! That's awful. You should have told them that if you could "just get over it" you wouldn't be spending your time and money on them! How rude! Hugs to you, friend!
That's kinda scary to hear, too. I honestly am not sure I can handle another blow to my feelings right now - especially not from anyone I go to seeking help. :/

I've never been prescribed a benzo, I don't think. I'm not really sure - there have been a LOT of medicines, lol. But, never anything like xanax, from my understanding. The only things I've used for breakthrough anxiety were atarax and buspar. From my understanding, benzos can cause increased depression and lack of coordination and those are problems for me even during good times. Also, some drugs cause me to hallucinate pretty severely (trazadone, for example). That may be why?

So, the best I can do is tell you what my experience of buspar has been. When I take it, I mostly notice less physical agitation - less aware of my heartbeat, less shaky, etc. It doesn't seem to effect how I feel mentally/emotionally. I hope that makes sense & is of some help.

Ah! I think it's worth a shot. The side-effects have been negligible for me, and I tend to have bad side effects. It's been a life-saver for the hubs!

Iam ready to pull my hair out with these meds nothing to me is working and I wish I had that much good with busphar.
