constant worry13,Hi, I am Kitt. Now no fair laughing at me but I have had attacks for more than several days in a row - in fact for years in a row. Remember there is a difference between a Panic Attack and Anxiety.
Recurring
panic attacks are the hallmark features of panic disorder. Panic attacks are
sudden and intense feelings of terror, fear or apprehension, without the
presence of actual danger. The symptoms of a panic attack usually happen
suddenly, peak within 10 minutes and then subside. However, some attacks may
last longer or may occur in succession, making it difficult to determine when
one attack ends and another begins.
I have a dx
of GAD and have experienced anxiety issues for 31 years. The main feature of Generalized Anxiety
Disorder is excessive and pervasive worry about many everyday life events. This
worry is difficult to control, persists for more than 6 months and interferes
with daily functioning.
The symptoms
of panic disorder and GAD can be potentially disabling. But, the vast majority
of people will find significant relief
with treatment. The sooner treatment begins after the onset of symptoms, the
more quickly symptom reduction or elimination will be realized. If you have
symptoms of panic disorder, GAD or both, talk to your doctor or other
healthcare provider.
In your case
is there anyone who can come and stay with you while your hubby is away for
this period of time?
You
mentioned your Mom so I will share a short story. My oldest Sister, bless her soul, had Anxiety
but she would never admit to it. When I
would be having a hard time I would call her in ND ( 550 miles from my home)
looking for someone to help me de-stress and bring my anxiety down. We would talk for 5 minutes while she would
beg me to stop crying…………yes I cried.
Then she would have to hang up the phone.
10 minutes
later my phone would ring and my other sister would be on the phone asking “what
is going on ? “ It never failed it was the 2nd oldest of the 3 of us
who could calm down a wild boar. Call
your Mom as long as she can deal with your anxiety but have that calm,
reassuring back up go to person who will let your talk about your feelings that
validates who you are on speed-dial.
You are
going to make it through this tough time.
We are here for you so use us to help you also.
Kindly,
Kitt
