I am very nervous about
making this switch. I have been on Celexa for 8 years, and as my post before says.. I have had a pretty bad relapse. I'm starting to wonder if I should just stay on the celexa and try and deal with this anxiety myself, or if I should shoot for it and try the zoloft? I am terrified that I will never feel like I did before this started. Please I only want to hear success, as I am hyper sensitive right now!!!!!

Well I'm supposed to take 20mg every other day,for a week, then 10 every other day for a week, the start on the zoloft at 25mg. I am terrified it will make things worse!

1st time on this Board.I've been on 40mg of Celexa a day for probably 8 yrs.It doesn't cause any side effects like some of the others I've been prescribed.Do you take a Benzo for your anxiety?I've taken 1mg of xanax 3 times a day for 12 years and probably will for the rest of my life.I can't sleep without the Celexa.I take it after breakfast.
Hope y'all are having a calm relaxing evening,
Rick

I'm using zoloft for the first time as well. The only side effect I had from it was dizzyness for at least a week and a half before it went away. the side effect usually lasted for me for 4 hours after I took the pill. zoloft only 25mg Also had trouble sleeping for the first three days but that went away.

Thanks all!! toutserabon, what type of anxiety did you suffer from? Mine seems to be from the disappointment of the meds quitting, and the fear that I won't find success again with a different one.

hi I am new to this. I been taking celexa for probably 8 years and it was for depression first and than like around 2008 my depression went away but I start to slowly get anxiety and panic attacks. than in 2010 I got pregnant and quit my celexa. I did pretty good for about
two years until recently I been having very bad panic attacks again. so dr put me back on celexa but it seems like I am having a much harder time this time around with all the side effects I am having. anyone having this same problem??

I started Celexa so long ago, but I can't say I had any bad side effects. The only thing I remember was having a bit of loose poops for a few days. I think I was just so willing to deal with that because I wanted anything to make me feel better and believe me, the Celexa gave me 8 amazing years of having literally no panic or sadness. I truly believe that when we read about
side effects, we automatically assume that we will have them and perhaps even generate them from our anxiety itself. For example, if you are already in panic mode, and you are nervous about
the side effects, well of course your anxiety will shoot up. You may think that the pill is causing more anxiety, when in actuality it's just you who are anxious about
the anxiety. Does that make sense? Please don't get me wrong, I am not minimizing our situation, and I have been there myself. In fact I'm worried about
the switchover right now, but I just have to trust and hope that it will give me peace of mind. I know a ton of people on Celexa and have no issues what so ever!! Be calm!!

I am switching because my anxiety has come back and I feel that perhaps the med is not working anymore.

I can understand the switch because to me celexa has gave me more problems then zoloft ever did,and I wish I never stop zoloft I kinda think these anxiety meds work only for so long. And our body become use to them&forget what it should be doing for us,so best of luck with your change&I pray its a great one.
