Hello!
Right now I am listening to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qvglWAHDak and I think about
the beauty of human mind. Especially the beauty I see in this forum, everyone here is coping with their fears and fighting every day. For people who have never felt it, it may be hard to recognize the courage and strenght it takes.
I am also trying to see the posive side of panic attacks. There must be some things about
it that we should feel thankful for. Even when we feel that it is taking over our life and that it is harming us. Maybe even then it somehow helps us and because of the panic we are not able to see all the good things that come with it.
I will try to come up with a list of the positive effects panic attacks had on me:
1. I am more compassionate when someone else suffers and I feel the need and the desire to help. I am not as self-centred as I used to be.
2. I am to some degree able to understand how people with panic attack disorder and anxiety feel and how hard it is for them to deal with it. I am thankful that now I can admire everyone who are going through this. It also give me the opportunity to help them even it is just a little.
3. It made me realize how much my family and friends care about
me and that I can rely on them, but also how complete strangers are there for me and are always ready to help.
If anyone can add something, I will be very happy to read it!

Thanks to anxiety, I have found out who my true friends and family are: The ones who will stand beside me and help me through my anxiety and panic attacks.
I never really looked at it this way, so thank you so much for making my morning a little brighter!

Nice!
Did you know that being grateful and counting one's blessings has been proven to combat anxiety and depression?
We have not had a gratitude thread in awhile...so this is great!
*
Anxiety has taught me to take myself less seriously...
*To laugh more often and find some humor in almost every situation...
*To face my fears, yet understand my limits at the same time...
*To get outside of myself and my problems and help others...
Good topic Scarlett!! I hope that others will post as well!:)

Anxiety is a message born within you, speaking to you through you, and therefore it’s within you to heal. Anxiety has taught me that I am the captain of my own ship.
Gentle Hugs,
Kitt
