It would seem with all medications that they are difficult to take it in the first place. As for myself I have taken zoloft for some time. The only drawback is a considerable amount of weight gain . However I can say positively that I took that weight gain and with the excessive exercise ended up turning it into muscle and subsequently feel like Rambo, maybe in Rambo part 2 which is to say that the medication has worked for me and subsequently with the exercise my confidence has increased while the medication is taking care of what it is prescribed to and things seem to be getting better although they are far from perfect. That being said, the fear of not taking it and considering the life that I had before I would say that it is far better than the avoidance with which one has to live on a daily basis that created the circumstances that led up to the very point of consulting a doctor for the reason of getting medical assistance in the first place .
This is a struggle for all of us that suffer, however it should be taken into consideration that medication alone is not the solution. It is only part of getting from one point to the other while suppressing that which is most disturbing in life. Once that is done with and what we do in the interim, while we are on this medication is entirely up to us and we should not rely so heavily on the judgement of doctors to decide what is best. For in the final analysis, we all have a responsibility to try to better our own situation however tough it might be. If the medication takes us halfway there, or the entire way there? All the better! But if it doesn't then we must take it upon ourselves to fill in the gap. To avoid taking the medication as a starting point to improve our lives and make better what has been so dramatic for most of us would be an ultimate shame and I think a disappointment to ourselves our families our friends and anyone that we should care about
because we owe it to ourselves in the end to try to make good even in the worst of situations.
And should we find one medication doesn't work, then do we simply give up or move into an agonizing period of pill popper's?
I pray that first time readers take this from someone who was a pill fanatic and paid dearly relying on doctors who truly never had such experience yet propose to know how another suffers. This is not like setting a broken bone after all.
Best of luck if you suffer and my hope is you find light at the end of your own dark tunnel. ;)
