I'm a 17 year old junior in high school with four upcoming ap exams. I have had gad for a little more than a year now and I'm honestly freaking out about my upcoming exams. Whenever I am having bad anxiety during tests I always end up doing much worse than I had planned. With four big exams (chem,stat,us,english) coming up does anyone have any test-day or mid-test advice? Im terrified of having anxiety surges or a panic attack during the tests!! It affects me so much, and I have trouble getting myself back under control.

I always hated exams for the same reasons. I have heard of some people or possibly in your case both you and your parents talking to the school and getting permission for you to take the test in a separate room by yourself to reduce the anxiety. It would probably depend on how helpful the staff are. I know from experience some teachers can be very understanding and others not so much. I had one teacher that would get us to do a 5 minute meditation before a test. I was about 14 at the time and thought he was nuts but it seemed to work. just take some time to visualize what you've done in class (especially with chem and stats which have visual references) even if your in the middle of a test. Just close your eyes and do some deep breathing of a minute.
while studying take some time to do some physical exercise even if it's just a walk around the block to get the blood flowing and I always found it gave my time to think over what I'd just read and process it. how far away are the exams?

Good Morning,

Breathing exercises can help reduce test anxiety and be very effective in helping you relax and reverse stress response. Take deep breaths, expanding your belly on the inhale, and let the stress come out on the exhales.  Be sure to take nice slow breaths while telling yourself you are ok.

Do not worry about the "big four tests" but instead take them one at a time. Talk with your school advisor if you are feeling like you need some counseling to learn how to deal with your stress.

well it gives you a bit of time to start some stress reduction techniques. I thought the test might have been the next day :) Stkitt is right. it's best to look at them one at a time rather than as one big group. Don't forget to get plenty of rest. it can make a big difference to how well you're feeling.

Hi. I suffered from test anxiety for so many years, and tried all kind of treatment from hypnosis to medication. I have to admit, none of them really worked for me.

In my last semester I found a new natural remedy named Naturax Kit and decided to give it a try. I have to admit I usually don't really believe in homeopathic remedies, but I thought checking it out. After using it for 4 tests already I have to admit it works for me very well. You should also consider trying it before you give up.
