I started to feel like off balanced almost like i just got off an elevator only i still feel like im on it. My head feels heavy . It feels wierd for me to look up . My neck is so tensed up all tbe time. I was diagnosed with severe anxiety/panick attacks. And depression an agoraphobia idk if thats how you spell it. I went to my sons open house for school an out of nowhere i couldnt breathe an my heart was racing i got really dizzy like almost falling over. My mom is pretty sure its all anxiety . I feel like this almost everyday. Some days its not as bad. I started buspar a week an a half ago. Im scared its something serious. cry

You described my worst symptoms of anxiety perfectly.

I've been dealing with them for years. I've had numerous tests conducted and it all points to anxiety. I'm still alive and physically healthy, so it must be.

Hi, its so awful to deal with daily. I just want it to go away already. Anxiety is an awful thing to deal with, i try to explain it to my friends an they look at me like im nuts. Its nice to see that im not crazy an other people go through this too.

Welcome to HealingWell I am so glad that you have joined us, as your situation is similar to so many of us here. I was dx with anxiety/panic attack 31 years ago and I can assure with hard work and yes medication for some of us, you  can learn to control your anxiety and not let anxiety control you. I have experienced the very same sx as you are having now.  That does not mean  these feelings aren't physical in nature. They are very real and extremely frightening.  They have most likely originated from anxiety, not in some disease or condition of the body. Therefore your sx need to be treated differently. Have you discussed your options with your doctor? Therapy and medication are the two most common ways to manage anxiety and panic attacks. We also have a great Resource Guide on our main page, first post. Check it out and see if there is something there that looks like it could help you.  I would suggest any of the breathing exercises.

Hi kitt, thank you for repsponding . Yes im gonna make an apt for the threapy. I started buspar almost two weeks ago an im praying it kicks in an starts working soon. I really dont like feeling like this as im sure none of us do. I just keep praying to god that it will soon be a thing of the past .

Glad to see that you made your own thread of introduction...well done.:) This way more members can welcome you!

Let us know how your labs turn out when you get your results. It is always wise to get a physical/check up when dealing with new or increased symptoms...but I have a strong feeling that everything is going to be right as rain.

Glad to hear that you are looking into therapy! You are taking all of the right steps. It is just a matter of time before you start feeling relief.

Hi s.c, i should know my results thursday or friday. I have more anxiety now awaiting my results. Im praying its nothing serious. Im sure it is all just my anxiety kicking in lately. Today is a bad day have a bad headache an feels like im so off balance. Cant wait to feel like me again. Thanks for all the support guys. I really appreciate it.

Well today is kinda a better day as far as the off balance feeling . But i have a migraine so bad . Still waiting for my lab results got me scared. Im trying to stay calm an think positive. I will keep you guys posted on my results an progress. Hope your all doing well. :)

The off balance thing is the worst. I have not felt it for about a week now after feeling it every day for about a month.

What worked for me is a couple weeks ago if I felt it I just kept telling myself when I felt it happened that "you're not dizzy, you have no reason to feel dizzy, you are just 10000 times more aware of things you feel than everyone else that is why it feels that way, get over it".

Yes i know, ive had it for a month an a half now. Its awful but im pretty positive its all from stress/anxiety an depression. I had it years ago but it came back now outta nowhere. Im glad your feeling better thats great !

So im having bad anxiety today, waiting on my lab results is driving me insane. Does anyone know if the dr would have called me if it was something serious? Its been two days an i havent heard nothing yet.

Two days is on the short side of receiving lab work back.

You could try calling tomorrow if you don't think you want to wait through the weekend...but don't be suprised if you don't get your results till next week.

Until then, compartmentalize and distract yourself when your mind wanders back to the worry.

Keep posting...we will be here to tell you that it is surely all going to be good news...and then you can really focus on dealing with the anxiety, and start to feel better!

Thank you sc, the results are all in. There gonna tell me today at my apt. Im staying positive about it. I have faith in god. I will keep you posted. Thank you for being supportive with all of us on here. Your a blessing. :)

Well my anxiety is really bad now, got my results back an i have high cholesterol an a lazy thyroid. Now im on more meds. But what is causing my off balance feeling an headaches? I have been having problems with my ears an sinuses. Idk im driving myself crazy.

The Buspar maybe a part of the headaches and dizziness. How long does it all last? And what dose are you on of the Buspar?

I was recently prescribed Buspar as well and went through the same symptoms. You could kinda tell when the Buspar kicked in, I would get a vertigo type feeling and lightheaded for about an hour. After that they for the most part went away.

If you are having headaches try Tylenol for them. I don't know if your doctor told you or not but don't take aspirin. It makes the buspar stay in your system longer and act more powerful.

Also I'm assuming your doctor did a TSH on you since you said you have a lazy thyroid, did he put you on levothyroxine? And if so what dose?

Hi, i been on buspar for 2 1/2 weeks now. I take 10mg twice a day. I had the balance problem before the buspar. Yes they tested the tsh an im on 50mg of levothyroxine . And lipitor for cholesterol. I have an apt monday for an ent balance specialist.

I know that floaty feeling. I ended up have High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol and Left Branch Bundled Block in my heart. I am on Lipitor for HG and Metoprolol Tart for the HBP. Your blood pressure was good? My Dr told me that the floaty feeling I had was from High Blood Pressure. Anxiety will cause spikes in your BP and maybe that is why you are getting the floaties.

I am on clonazepam for my anxiety. My biggest problem is I Dr. Google every single little pain I have. Try to take deep breaths, they will help with the anxious feelings you have. cool

My bp gets as high as 160/99 pulse 120. But it was good today. I dont think theres anything wrong with my heart. But all the things i have are genetic. I also have a blood clot condition im on coumiden for life. I have factor 5 leiden an factor 2 mutatiin. All this at age 34 is very depressing. I try an stay calm but sometimes its hard when i think about it.

Hey Sunshine, I have been on .137 thyroid for over 30 years, and Lipitor since it came out, both drugs
work wonderful just take them and stop worrying! Peace

Yes, thank goodness for modern medicine!

I know it was not the news that you wanted, but many people need medication for optimal health. Preventitive medicine is also a blessing, as you can feel secure about your future health.

Larry has a great outlook, and has done really well! My husband also takes a cholesterol and BP med for preventitive measures. He does not have a current problem with either...but since he is a type 1 diabetic, his doctor wants his readings and levels very low...since diabetes is already a high risk issue for cardio health. However, he never worries about his health...he just does all that he can to manage his disease, and carries on...amazing!

For us however, we tend to view things through negative and fearful filters. Trying to change our views to more positive and rational ones will really help.

Knowing what you do about your health and genetics...you are doing all the right things to ensure your future health. Rather than see it as something to fear...let that empower you.

I am glad that you got your results, and hope that you can come to peace with the things that you learned, and go on to manage your physical health and the anxiety.

Welcome. I am diagnosed with the same as you. Medicine helped for the last 12 years but in a setback for 10 months now. I have been off balance the last few days. Scary. Welcome. This is a great source for support.

Hi everyone, just want to update you. I started feeling a bit better but the last few days im feeling off balance again. Its driving me crazy because i dont know if its from my ears an sinuses or anxiety. I wish it would just go away already. Its controlling my life an i hate.it.

I am sorry that your symptom is back.;(   Have you had ear congestion/allergy/sinus issues in the past? Perhaps you need to make an appointment to have it looked at?

I have dizzyness as an anxiety symptom, so my go-to response to this problem is breathing exercises.

However, once I was just not getting relief, and it was getting more pronounced, so I made an appointment...and found I had a middle ear infection starting. I had no pain or fever, so this was a suprise.

It proves that it is always a good idea to rule out any physical reason for symptoms such as this.

However, if this turns out to be anxiety related, the good news is that it did get better for some time...so it can again. Really focus on doing your breathing (3x a day, everyday) and see how you feel.;)
