You're right, admitting the symptoms are anxiety related is much easier but at the same time it's tough because I keep thinking "what if they're wrong." I haven't talked much about anxiety with my regular doctor but I will be seeing her on May 1st so I will bring it up then.

Sorry I forgot to share with you about the weak feelings, mine would come after I had put up a false front
for days at work, it seemed that I could just barley keep from falling apart with fear and then I would get
to a safe place and it felt like I had water in my veins instead of blood, my muscles would feel like jello,
sometimes a cold sticky sweat, as you have noticed symptoms are not always the same its like our mind is
looking for a weak place to break us down. I'm not a Dr. but I have long suspected that our subconscious
mind is trying to come up front and take over our personality. "can we all say crazy old man". lol
Looking back I think its a good thing that I can laugh at myself.

Thanks! The weak feelings seem pretty common in those of us with anxiety, it's a frightening symptom but I've gotta keep telling myself it's nothing. Fortunately I haven't had it for a few days.
I have actually been doing really really well. I took long walks (well long for me, about 30-40 minutes) today and yesterday and I hadn't exercised in a year, so that's a big step for me. I was always afraid of walking because I was afraid I would be too far from home and get lightheaded, but I'm not lightheaded at all when I walk, I think because it takes away the anxiety. I think I am making progress!

Hey there I have been reading your thread and I was thrilled to read today that you have been out walking. WTG!

It feels to me like you are having tons of anticipatory anxiety - your stuck on the"what if?" merry-go - round and it is time to get off as all that worrying and speculating is making you dizzy. You don't need all of this anxiety so kick it to the curb and take back your life.

I suspect you wake up in the mornings expecting to feel miserable, so you do. Then your day goes from bad to worse. It is time to change this pattern......only you can stop the "stinking thinking"

We have a thread that speaks to "Positive Affirmations" which I will move to the top of this page. Please read through what others have posted and then start rephrasing your thoughts.

Do your best to stay in the moment and move forward one step at a time. You can control your emotions. Remember fear will not hurt you so STOP the what if thoughts.

I have great faith in your ability to overcome your issues.

Thank you! You're right, it seems like every time I fear getting worse, I do get worse. I am trying so hard not to keep second guessing this good week I'm having. I keep wondering when the bad days are coming. But I need to stop.
I've still been doing great. Today I woke up early, cleaned, sorted through a bunch of clothes, and walked for about 50 minutes! The walks are making me feel great because it reassures me I'm healthy and my body is working correctly. If I had an untreated physical illness causing the symptoms I've had, I wouldn't be able to walk over 2 miles partly uphill in the heat, would I? It's reassuring just to think about it that way.

Just thought I would update. I am doing okay although I have had some minor issues in the last few days, mainly some nausea and lightheaded feelings. I've just got to tell myself that the symptoms ARE anxiety and WILL pass. Today I got very nauseous after eating and now I am sitting here with weird feelings in my head, very lightheaded and having a hard time concentrating. But it will get better, it always does.

I've had all sorts of symptoms like everyone else. I am 33. I have had the dizzyness, I even have had where my eyes would "wobble" side to side when looking at a computer screen. As I type, I feel like the two halves of my brain are like a foot apart and my eyes are not cooperating with each other. I've had the weak legs, burning skin, no appetite, profuse sweating, sheer terror, rapid heart beat. It does seem like hopeless when it goes on for long periods, but those good days/weeks seem great.

Hey Lindsay,

I almost have the same symptoms as you! I got dengue fever (a viral illness) 2 months back. Ever since then, I've been feeling fatigue, no appetite, dizziness, chest pains, racing heart rate lasting for a few days at a time. I had rashes here and then after the viral illness. Short of breath, muscle aches, bloatedness...a general feeling of unwell. Lost lots of weight.

My appetite is slowly coming back. I have had body checkup it was fine. Gastro doc says I'm too young to have gastric disease. Echo shows I have minor mitral valve prolapse.

I'm also 22 and quit my job because I just don't have the energy. I'm guessing it may be partly due to the viral illness and partly because of anxiety. I'm going to another cardiologist again because I really don't think my palpitations and fatigue are due to anxiety.

I had nausea and dizziness, bloat, and fatigue so much the past year. I had so many emotional problems. I had a death in the family around the holidays, constant anxiety and depression from that. Lindsey I was sick with the same symptoms as you describe off and on for months. I am 57 and the Dr told me it was a virus and stress, and depression. All my health tests came back ok. I know how you feel, I had several episodes after the death that I could barely breath, felt wiped out and spent a lot of nauseas mornings...it always cleared up in the afternoon. I thought that was weird, but hang in there you will make it.

Hello, I just thought I would update. For the most part I have been doing extremely well, had some rough patches with symptoms but for the most part they are not lasting nearly as long as they used to, like now I'll feel sick for a day or two instead of a week or two. I have actually started working again! Took my job back as a cashier at a grocery store, it is a pretty physical job but I've had no problems doing it so far.

Great update!!

These are steps in the right direction...and while you may still be having some anxiety issues, you are getting better at managing, and the fact that you started to work again is huge!

Fantastic job. Keep up the good work and keep posting with us.

It is encouraging to others to see that there is hope for recovery!

Wow this is so similar to me I have physical pains bad. I have nausea, headaches, and bad stomach problems . I even have symptoms that mimic hypoglycemic like you said if I don't eat I'll feel faint and extremely dizzy. I'm actually getting tested for that in 2 weeks. I did have physical chest pains but I went to cardiologist and they said I was completely fine so I no longer have pains. I am doing a lot better i have been working out and eating healthy an getting some sun. I have really improved but I'm still on a long road to recovery. I really hope you get better but it makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one with these symptoms. I wish you the best of luck and I'm rooting for you!

Lindsay you need to check the Norman Parathyroid website. You have parathyroid tumors your condition is 100 percent cureable. Your high calcium levels that you posted is a sure sign of parathyroid disease. Most doctors miss this. I just went through the same thing.

Hi gregz...please be careful and do not attempt to diagnose other members.  This may or may not be the issue here, so making a suggestion is fine, but avoid definitive statements in the future please.:)

Also cut out all gluten in your diet you will feel better.

Hey Lindsay, did you ever move out of your house? I lived in an extremely moldy building and started getting symptoms like yours. Mold can be very dangerous. I moved out and started to get better, but am still trying to get well. What are you doing for treatment?

We have similar stories. I am 24 year old female. One day 2 1/2 mo ago I got chest pain around the time I was moving to a new apt by myself and my bf was moving 2 hours away. I went to the doc said it was pluritis have me antibiotic did chest xray. Then a week later I couldn't swallow, I had a sharp pain in my chest went to ER they said it was an ulcer so I had a scope done, no ulcer. They did a abdominal ultrasound my gallbladder was fine. I'm the middle of this I had a kidney stone so I had a CT done they only mentioned the kidney stone. I have lost about 15 lbs in 2mo. Now I have pain all in my ribs they are saying is ibs. They have done a lot of bloodwork all fine. I feel your pain. The doc just put me on zoloft as well 25mg going back to see him today maybe upping it. But now I have been having leg pain and weird sensation in my cheek and forehead. It's never ending. I went and saw a therapist yesterday who specializes in CBT he diagnosed me with sonitazation. But of course the anxiety in me says they just haven't found out whats wrong with me yet!
