lexapro dosage..

hi,
I have been taking lexapro 10 mg since last seven years recently i started taking 15 mg after several anxiety attacks, iam taking 10 at night and 5 at morning since 2 weeks
is it better to take 15 at morning one time ? and shall i raise the dose to 20 as i haven't read that 15 dose is being prescribed.

What did your doctor advise? I have always heard of taking a full dose of this class of drugs together...but I would follow whatever instructions your doctor has given.

Also, your MD should be the one to let you know what a theraputic level to shoot for is...therefore I am a little confused as to why you would be guessing between the 15 and 20 mgs? Did he/she not tell you what you should be taking?

Dr. prescribed 20 mg but i thought if i was doing fine on 10 last seven years why i don't try the 15 mg first and let postpone the 20 mg for a later stage when this 15 mg poops may be after several months or years who knows, of course this is my conclusion this in addition my exp. Drs tend to prescribe high doses and additional meds easily that i always try to cut down for the side effects or to keep them to the minimum, i don't know may be this is wrong.

insurance don't cover psychiatry visits nor medication in retarded countries i live in. they have no problem to pay for non mental issues even for the silliest cases multiple times more than for a mental monthly medication or dr. visit although its more critical and suffering than flu and the insignificant visits that they accredit.
