I get this a lot. It's one reason we keep the bedroom very dark. I wake up with panic attacks fairly often and it takes hours to shake them.

Even if I had a fine evening the night before, the worst time for my anxiety is morning. It gets made worse by showering (so I do it at night), heat, light, loud noises, being startled.
