Hi all. Its been 1 week today since starting the 10mg Prozac. But I've had a horrible time sleeping. I am up every couple hours at night. :( I was wondering if it's okay to take melatonin since it says its natural? I have taken it in the past and it helped me sleep. But when I was taking it, I was never taking it for insomnia. I just recently started having trouble sleeping the last couple months. Please let me know! Thanks!

I take Melatonin every night and take Prozac, so I don't think that it will hurt you. It does help with the sleeping. Hope this helps!

Here is a drug interaction checker site if you are still unsure...or you can always call your doctor/pharmacist.:)

Oh sure!! :)
I believe that it tends to err on the side of caution...which is good, considering...
But if you do get a red flag on your Rx combinations, then you can ask your doctor or pharmacist for a final word. (sometimes it turns out not to be an issue) In other words, this is a good place to start...or a good place if you have an after hours/weekend question.

I ended up taking it last night around 9:45...and I was literally in a panic. I cant remember even falling asleep because I was FREAKING OUT, but I woke up like every 2 hours feeling like crap. :'(

Oh no!
I have never heard of anyone having a reaction like that.:(
You mentioned taking it in the past though, and it was okay? (I was curious about
that...you said you did not take it for sleep issues? What reason then?)
I suppose this could have been a reaction with the Prozac, or maybe just a fluke...but I don't blame you if you don't try this again!
Maybe you need to talk with your doctor about
help with this? (sleep ai?)
