Started Citalopram

Hi I started taking Citalopram about 4 or 5 days ago didnt notice anything at first now today I am light headed and feel like I am going to tip over and kinda weak. I wet to the Hospital today for not being able to breath well and I had an EKg and Chest xray and it was fine. I keep thinking something is wrong with my heart. has anyone gotten lightheaded or anything from citalopram?

Well I don't know if it is the celexa but now I wonder if thats what it is every since being on meds,I will get dizzy out of no where&feel like Iam about to faint and little black out like spells that come over me quickly but go away after I drink water.

yup it is Celexa the Generic one. I was just like light headed all day almost. I also was prescribed vistril as needed but have not taken one yet I am afraid ha

Yes, dizzyness/lightheadedness can be an s/e of Citalopram/Celexa. It should subside soon as your body becomes accustomed to this med.

You can rest assured that you are dealing with anxiety symptoms and side effects only, since your tests came out indicative of good health.

I am sorry that you were not feeling well earlier. I hope that your breathing is more at ease now! Focus on your coping skills during this time,
