I think I mentioned this before, (I can't recall, memory isn't what it used to be)...but sometimes without realizing it, we can clench our teeth and jaw when we're really anxious and this can be a contributing factor to these types of headaches.
One technique that helps is sticking the tip of your tongue out between your upper and lower teeth. Doesn't have to be a lot, just a little. Well, it's your choice actually,....there's benefits to both.
If you keep the tip of your tongue (as if you were literally "biting your tongue") between your teeth, and concentrate, meditate, focus,...and keep the tongue there, don't let it slide back....you'll be surprised at how this can help tension headaches.
For as long as your tongue is stuck between your teeth, you're not going to clench or bite your teeth or clench your jaw....not with your tongue there! The trick is trying to keep it there because you'll be quite surprised at how badly your anxiety will want you to pull that tongue back in so you can clench your jaws!
Do it in segments if you want to. Keep the tongue out and count to 500. If you let your tongue slide back in, start counting from 1 again.
It's a very good self-help technique with roots in India.
