We have a GERD forum here on HW and you betcha, I have wandered the halls of that forum and posted there as well, for what sounds like the same thing.
Also not a doctor, and not medical advice, but fellow anxiety-person-type advice,...they sure are related!
When my anxiety gets particularly high, I even dry-heave from the acid reflux. I keep some OTC remedies on hand, and this is where breathing really comes into play.
When we take shallow breaths, we're also sort of squishing our diaphragm out of anxiety, and that's adding pressure up onto our stomach. So one way to reduce at least that aspect of it, is learning to relax the belly and do the Divided Breath exercise.
That really, really works well!
