I have had a weird feeling in my throat for the last 3 days, it's not like a lump in throat more like a pressure in between my collar bones like at the very bottom of my neck/throat.

Well I just looked in the mirror and noticed my uvula or as some people call it the dangly ball in the back of your throat is extremely big and long almost touching my tongue..... Eek

Now I'm concerned I am going to choke on it or it is going to obstruct my breathing to the point of suffocation

Don't know what to do it's freaking me out

I used to have an obsession with my epiglottis (i believe its that flap thing way on the back of your tongue) and i would be terrified it wasnt suppose to look the way it looked.

If you can speak, and you can take deep breaths, i doubt you will suffocate. what are the chances of that dangly ball expanding so big it blocks your airway? This feeling will pass, mine did. :)

Although, maybe just go to the doctor, so your doctor can reassure you. :)

Hi SK.,

How are you feeling today? How did you sleep? It is likely that you just picked up a little virus...or are in the process of fighting one off.

Like tonsils, the uvula can become inflamed when one is sick.

Do all of the things that you can to keep well. Lots of water, Vitamin C or suppliments if you use them...healthy food, and of course rest.

This will not cause you to choke...just some dicomfort.
