Take a big breath,...well as big as you can, anyway. In fact take several.
A few thoughts here,...it's possible you caught a cold. Tis the season afterall.
However, when you mention that you can elicit pain by pressing on those areas,....sometimes that's an indication of a sore muscle. If you've been breathing shallow or hyperventilating, if you've been spending a lot of time pressing around the areas and focusing on them, they can become tender to the touch.
We have lots of tiny little muscles that connect our ribs, and they can get achy just like any other muscle. Sleeping funny, over-focusing, or as I mentioned, if you find you're pressing on them a lot over and over to see if it still feels tender, they can get irritated and sore.
If it is gas or if you've strained those intercostal muscles, it will pass, but you have to give it time and not poke around so much. You could be so heightened to sensations that you're aware of every little feeling. If you are concerned, check with your doctor and they can give you the once-over and check you out. Certainly if it persists and you're concerned, see your PCP.
