Can anxiety related illness last for a WEEK?

I have frequent nausea and chest pains. However as of Monday this week I have had the worst episode of my life.

It started with what I assume was a panic attack on Monday night (i've never had one before). I all of a sudden got so hot feeling and dizzy and weak, I ran outside to get fresh air. I thought I was dying, no joke. It was scary.

That night I had a terrible time of it, I was too hot but yet my entire body was shivering. Had to sleep with a window open in the middle of winter!

A nurse hotline told me not to go to the ER as it was anxiety. Um ok.

Well two days later I was STILL feeling just awful, couldnt function, had to lay on the couch or my nausea and dizziness would overcome me.

The ER doctor ran a bunch of tests but he believes it is anxiety as well.

I know I am a worrier and can kind of believe the anxiety diagnosis but would I REALLY still be feeling nauseous and awful and weak!??! It happens randomly, for a moment or two I feel fine, then it comes back.

I also have been getting a weak feeling in my arms and some trembles. None of these things are usual for me.

Does it sound like anxiety?

I also have not been able to eat much at all due to the nausea.

The temperature thing is still occurring where I feel fine then all of a sudden I am very hot. I was "hoping" it was a flu but it's been a full four days, I should be over a flu by now.

I havent had any relief since this all started, there is not an hour that goes by that I don't have nausea or the dizzy feeling.

I feel calm most of the time, I don't feel anxious. I have some problems and worries and I do tend to be a worrier but this is really a first and I'm having a hard time believing the doctors that anxiety symptoms could cause me to feel sicker than I have ever really felt for so long.

I'm having a whole bunch of weird symptoms lately, and my doctor seems to think they are all anxiety/depression related too. Like you I am having a hard time believing they are related to anxiety and depression and the fear that something is really wrong with me is of course spiraling my anxiety up which makes me feel hopeless and depressed. Are you feeling any better? Did your ER doc run a flu test? Sometimes they can be falsely negative. I hope you are on the mend or at the very least, you have some answers.

For two months straight I had horrible symptoms and a bunch of test ran and they said anxiety for me too! I couldn't even get off the couch other than to go to the doctors... Did I mention I went to the er every night for those two months and they found nothing! But it does get better and you will hit rough spots every now and then hope u feel better ☺️

Kate no I don't mind at all! Ugh where do I wanna start I had symptoms for two straight months they were: total loss of appetite for two weeks (I lost 18lbs because of it), shortness of breath, HORRIBLE night sweats, lack of sleep, couldn't get of the couch other than to go to the doctors because I'd get dizzy barley even to do that took all I had to take a shower, stomach issues, constant nausea, chest pain, palpitations, vision loss, headaches, tingling in arms, tightening of face I had tons and tons of test MRI ct scans blood work ultra sounds 24hr heart monitor.. You name it and that's not all the symptoms I had 99.9% of the symptoms that there is!

Nope never found a cause 😥 everything went back to normal for a couple months now I feel myself slipping back to that situation 😩 yes very scary and awful!
