vertgo or anxiety

First of a big welcome to the anxiety forum it good to meet you and I am sure you will get good support here from the members. Sorry to read you are having these problems I have never had vertigo so can't comment on that but can say that anxiety can make you feel dizzy especially if you are having an panic attack.

It sounds like the activan has helped you which is good and yes gabapentin can help with anxiety but I am not a doctor so please do discuss this with your doctor.

I talk to the doctor about addressing my anxiety, but he saids that
why i prescribe you celexa. But that more for depression then
anxiety. Doesnt want to discuss it anymore. I think he doesn't like to prescribe
anti anxiety med, do to the fact that their very addicted. But hate feeling
this way hope it start to go away soon need a day well I wake up dizziness
free.

I am so thankful I found this forum I could cry. It's so comforting to know I am not alone with this, when sometimes you sure feel alone. I have had anxiety and panic for many years now. Just this past month it has gotten so bad :( My mom passed away very suddenly last July from a rare autoimmune disease. She was 58. Also been going through some stress with my husband being on disability, so I know where the stress has and is coming from. I was on meds for my panic and anxiety but they did nothing so I took myself off of them. I have found that when I feel an attack coming on if I jump in a cold shower and sit in the tub with the water spraying on me alternating between cold and warm water it helps to calm me. Also a lot of prayer and trust and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ has gotten me through. The past couple nights though I have woke up to being dizzy and feeling this vibration feeling in my head. It's a very scary feeling. Of course I am scared thinking something is horribly wrong and my panic starts to escalate and my heart starts beating fast, I get clammy and want to cry. Sometimes my ears feel weird and a tightness in my head. I hate it. Sometimes periods of the back of my head feeling tingly. Anyone else ever feel these things? My anxiety here the past month has become very debilitating. I do have good days but more bad ones I don't want to leave the house. I am not depressed, far from that. Just shook up by my anxiety. I so just want to feel normal again :'(

Sidney - i really feel for you too and i'm sorry you have these symptoms. it feels awful.

i feel the same way about leaving the house, its not that i am depressed or anti-social, but the anxiety and how it feels when the dizziness or panic happens away from home is just terrible. so sorry to hear about your mom, and i know that stress makes this worse.

the doctor i talked to yesterday said the dizziness and strange sensations can definitely be from anxiety. i also find it gets worse in the week or so before my period and i have also wondered if it could be early menopause - i have read some interesting articles about perimenopause, hormone fluctuations and panic attacks.

i haven't found much that helps yet, except when it's not severe i can try to distract myself from it. i may try your shower trick!
