I take 50mg a day. It seems to be working. Been on it for about
a month but now I'm scared to stop and my anxiety to come back full force. Is this normal? Does this help? Anyone on this? I just want to know how people feel about
it.

L.M.,
I am wondering why you mention being afraid to stop your Rx so soon after starting? Especially since you are having good results so far...
Are you referring to some time in the future? If that is the case, I would encourage you to stay in the moment, and continue doing what works for you in the present, and not worry right now about
weaning until the time seems right for you.:)
I hope that you continue to feel well and use the tools you have now to manage your anxiety issues.
Keep posting with us...we will support and encourage you during this time!

L.M.,
Is there a reason why you are not getting a refill? This is meant to be an ongoing medication...not one that you take until it is finished, like some others...
Has something changed with your doctor or insurance that is preventing you from continuing?
I would call and ask for your prescript
ion to be refilled if you can. I am sure that your doctor is expecting that, and it is just a matter of a phone call.:)
I am glad that you are finding comfort in being here...I do too! Keep posting with us.:)

Yes, I agree with ScaredyCat, a quick call to your doctor's office and you should be able to get a refill. SSRI's like Zoloft/Sertraline are meant to be taken continuously, not just for one month. My psychiatrist tends to only give me one month at a time (I'm in my second month of taking it) because we're still adjusting the dosage. I imagine that eventually, your doctor will give you a prescript
ion with refills with the idea that you check in with him/her every couple months.

I called my doctor and they're sending me a refill. I guess I panic ed for no reason but it's going to be a few days before it's done. I'm scared to go without them. I have only one left for tonight. I've been stressing about
it all day. My anxiety is really high today. Just such an off day.

Okay, good.:)
Call tomorrow as it should be something that can be filled fairly quickly at any pharmacy.
At the most, a day of missing a dose should not affect you much if any...and start your regular dosing schedule when you get your prescript
ion.
Do you feel like your doctor talked to you sufficiently and explained the medication that you are taking in regards to how it works, and should be taken?
If not, then I would encourage you to get a consult with him/her, or even talk to the pharmacist (they often have a vast knowledge of the meds they fill) to become aware of everything that will help you to get the most out of your treatment.
I hope you get it soon...keep calling and checking.:)
