I have what many would consider a complete Library on all sorts of self-help books, in several palettes of varieties, different approaches, topics, theories,...some are academic from college, some are academic for fun, and I have quite the list of authors,....many with disagreeing approaches and beliefs.
But I firmly believe that the best way for us, as people, to become the best we can be,....it's to read, see, learn, hear....everything we can,....take what's helpful and useful for us, integrate it,...and discard that which doesn't work for us.
So here's a few:
(1) First, absolutely any book by Dr. Joy Browne (regardless of the topic, she'll hit on points that are brilliant!)
(2) Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers, Ph.D.
(3) Feel the Fear ...and Beyond by Susan Jeffers, Ph.D.
(4) Daring Greatly by Brene Brown Ph.C., LMSW (Check her out on the TED podcasts if you want a taste).
Those are just a couple. I probably have at least 75-100 more (quite literally, as I've been collecting them for decades).
