Big hugs Merrida, I agree with (thank you xanax!)
Sorry you are dealing with this! When we can't even get restful sleep, it really messes everything up.
I've have nightmares and feel anxiety in my sleep, since, well, forever.
After a series of traumatic events several years+ ago, I would literally wake with a full blown panic attack every morning and be in panic mode all day. EVERY morning. So I know how awful that feels.
Our parents are the most dominant figures in our lives, so a difficult parent can evoke all sorts of mixed and bad feelings in us and well, we don't get to choose our parents, and they are our parents "forever" so those relationships impact us the most.
Big hugs, this WILL pass.
