Hey All,
My son just started Buspar last night.. the does is starting low at 7.5 milligrams in the morning and 7.5 at night. It just seems like within and hour he has been getting a headache. Last night (first dose) and this morning (2nd dose) he seems to be getting a hot flash, and nausea. He also has sinus issues, and i think he may have a sinus infection and needs to go to the dr. Do you think that this is caused from the Buspar or maybe from the sinuses or just over thinking and wondering if this med is gonna help and he develops these symptoms..

Hi Acacia1 and welcome.:)
It can be frustrating to try and distinguish what is an anxiety symptom, from an S/E...and then throw in the possibility of an illness such as the sinus issue...and you have a situation that is as clear as mud!
Call his prescribing doctor tomorrow, as he/she is the only one who can possibly answer this question.
Hoping that you get the answers that you need soon, and inviting you and/or your son to post with us anytime.:)

thanks.. he went to the dr., got and antibiotic and the dizzyness is better and almost gone.. i am thinking that the buspar is agreeing with him as he has not complained much after taking it. wishing, hoping, praying that this will help him.
thanks..

Hi,
I am on the max dose of Buspar and it's never bothered me at all. I hope it will be the same for your son! I do believe that it is usualyy well tolerated.
All the best to you and him!

I just started taking Buspar 3 weeks ago, I can finally see the results, I am not worried all the time :)
It takes time for it to work, be patient and good luck to him!

I am on the max dose of Buspar too. I started out at 15mg daily and worked my way up to 30mg twice a day over the years. I think this drug is a good one and I do not remember any side effects that kept me from doing my daily activities.
Kindly,
Kitt
