Xanax and PPI?

I just started a new PPI (Nexium) this week. I haven't been on one in a long time. I don't remember how I handled this last time but I'm wondering if I can take my Xanax with it. I have read that it can increase the effect of the Xanax so I don't want to have a problem but right now I really need the Xanax, at least to sleep. I'm on a low dose (.25mg) so seems like it should be safe, but not sure. Does anyone take both?

I take Prevacid and Xanax with no issues. But check with your doctor or pharmacist first.

I take omeprazole with Xanax and have never had a problem.

But when in doubt, ask your doc and pharmacist.

That's what I thought. I don't remember not being able to take my Xanax in the past but will def check in when I talk to my dr this week.
