Anyone here raising children on their own while going through this?

When I was in my 20s I had a breakdown, Id actually had depression on and off since I was 7 but of course didn't know what was wrong with me......in my mid twenties I completely hit the bottom and couldn't function and finally after all those years of struggle found help, it took me a year to recover once they found the right med. As awful as that time was I came through it eventually....however I also had no responsibilities to anyone else....I moved home to my Mums and slept and slept and did nothing much really which was a godsend while I recovered....NOW though although I am now single I have an active 6yr old and wow it is so hard to try and keep her routine going, try and put on a strong exterior that all is ok, try and listen to her worries and 6yr old ramblings whilst inside all I want to do is run to my room and hide under the covers....she is a talker and sometimes my head wants to explode as all I want is quiet and cant handle the noise....then of course I feel guilty that I am pretending to be present and interested. Arrrghh. Her father lives 3hrs away so there is no break.....and its not that I want her away I just wish someone could take the reins for awhile.....ho hum...I know I have done such a great job with her under the circumstances and I am so incredibly scared that I will get so sick and wontbe able to look after her....my only goal is to keep her life stable as possible at the moment.

your not alone....im trying to do it with a 18 15 11 and 5 year old and i may be pregnant....this is so hard ....but my strength comes from my kiddos

I raised three boys, all while suffering varying degrees of anxiety. It is hard to hide it from them but I guess I did alright because they are now three, adult, well-adjusted individuals who seem to love and respect me. So don't worry, it sounds like you are all good, caring mothers and that's what shines through all your anxiety to them.
