Was having a really good day then.....

I got a tight/numb feeling in my jaw then I began to feel dizzy and very sweaty! I did some breathing exercises and thought I was getting control back but then I noticed that I was still really sweaty! I began to think that maybe this wasn't a panick attack and it was something more sinister! I have had loads of tests on my heart and they always come back clear so why can I not realise that this is just panick and get it under control? I see some of your replies to posts and most of you seem to be so rational about panick yet I can't do that. I have began to calm down again now but have been left with the fear of it starting again

This is me everyday! I have been to the er so many times in the 4 months its ridiculous. And it's always the same ole thing... Ekg comes back normal, chest xray normal, and blood work normal... But I am still having these pains and am afraid I will not be able to distinguish when something legitimate happens. Anxiety for me has proven to be very crippling and debilitating. Why can't I just get past this and be normal?!?! I know exactly where you are coming from Babz.

a silly suggestion but it works for me. if you are having a panic or anxiety attack, go for a walk and blow into a balloon. it makes you concentrate your breathing. It really helps calm you don. I would do this when I was almost hyperventilating. Carry a balloon in your jacket pocket at all times.

Breathe. Take one step at a time and prioritize. You cannot do anything about your daughter right now so concentrate on your sister.
