Has anyone experienced this? It has happened twice now. Both times it was as if everything went pitch black for a fraction of a second. No other symptoms. Kinda freaks me out since it has never happened before and I have been on the clonazapam for about
a month now and it never happened before that, although I'm aware it still might not be connected.
Both times the weather was poor. The first time a bad storm passed through and this time it's just rainy a gloomy in general. It definetły was not the lights though, but maybe related to barometric pressure?
I don't know.. But it's got me freaked out :/

You mean you lost your vision for a second?

I guess? It happened so fast it's hard to say. For a tiny fraction of a second it's like my vision was switched on and off. It was so quick I couldn't even process it until after the fact.

yes. I had this happen about
3 years ago, while I was driving! I was under extreme stress and anguish that day. It happened for about
1-2 seconds . I could not believe it. I have never forgotten it. I will google it now and see what others say

I have had that happen as well, I don't know why it does.

Cianna,
Were you anxious/panicking at the time?
There is a phenomena they used to call 'hysterical blindness.' (now included in the spectrum of symptoms for conversion disorder)
My mother has experienced it, and I recently read something else about
a person losing their vision for an extended period of time due to stress.
However, I think it would be a prudent move to run this by your doctor, and see if he/she thinks it would be a good idea to see an opthamologist...just to be on the safe side.:)
I hope you get the answers you are seeking!

Thanks SC..
I was not anxious or even slightly stressed at the time. It has happened twice. Once yesterday and once about
a week and a half ago. The first time I thought maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me. Now that it's happened again I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine it. It only happens for a split second though. Too fast for me to even register it when it happens.
I got nervous reading up on it of course because google stinks and the first thing that came up was stroke. I've also had hiccups on and off since it first happend and since that was mentioned as a stroke sign it put my anxiety really up there. I called the nurse hotline for my doctors office and they said to just see someone soon but not to rush to the ER or anything..
So now I'm stressed and worried. I'm worried my doctor will blow it off as just another anxiety symptom even though with my meds I am anxiety free. I'm also worried about
what it might be. I had a dilated eye exam two months ago and they said my eyes were perfect..
Sigh.. When it's not one thing it's always something else.

Cianna,
I am almost certain that you are not experiencing a stroke. Your post is cohesive, complex and you would not zhvr been able to complete this...or a lot of your regular gross and fine motor/speech skills if you had suffered one.
In other words...one symptom does not a diagnosed make! ;)
...and hiccups are just so common, that I wouldn't let this even factor in.
Get an appointment for tomorrow, or the next day...but until then, try not to let this derail you.
You are going to be okay!

yes - i had that happen to me twice....in church both times. When I was a young teen both times. First time was during my Confirmation- I didn't connect anxiety but I remember having to memorize answers to questions the Bishop might have asked me and a nun shaking her fist in a choir loft...the other time in church don't remember anxiety either. Doctors said maybe my pony tail was too tight or it was a severe allergic reaction. Fast forward to what I perceived to be my first full fledged panic attack. I had just had my second child and came home from the hospital. I all of a sudden had a completed feeling of doom & dread. I saw my vision narrowing like a tunnel but not going completely black, I ran to the bathroom to be alone, shaking and thinking I was dying. I got over it. When I went to the doctor I was told it was a panic attack.
