Not feeling particularly anxious, but I absolutely cannot sleep. Been laying in bed since 10 and I have to get up in 3 hours. Boy, is it going to be a long day tomorrow

Me too. I have been at Disneyland with my kids since Thursday. We just got home today and I feel like I am spinning. I've been laying here for awhile trying to sleep. Seems like 3 days worth of anxiety is catching up. Good luck trying to get some sleep!

I've been on fall break with my kiddos this week. We've stayed up late, slept late and I've just messed up my routine. I just dread how tired I'm going to be tomorrow.

Include me in on the "insomnia team". I'm having an unusually hard time falling asleep. My mind is racing, blood is flowing, and heart is pounding.
I may have made a boo boo today and ate an m&m blizzard from Dairy Queen. Mmmmmm! So good but the dairy and chocolate are both huge triggers for my anxiety. I couldn't help myself though ;)

Chocolate, caffeine (even decaf sometimes because it DOES have some caffeine in it), sugars, spicy foods, carbs....ALL disrupt a restful nights sleep. My advice is to stay away from all of them within six hours of going to bed. I know alot of people don't like milk but thank God I do because, as my mother always told me, it's the best tranquilizer there is. And I have found that to be true.

Haven't had a problem sleeping for a bit, but it's baaaaack. Woke up three times Saturday night so I was super tired Sunday night before bed. Thought I would be good. No such luck. Ended up taking a xanax around 1:00, but still woke up three times and way before my alarm was to go off. Scanning my day to see what I did wrong:(

Hi Teacher9075! Sorry about
your insomnia. I agree that caffeine is a NO NO! Do you use any meds for your insomnia? I use Zopiclone which works well for me. Hope you find something that works for you and that you get some sleep soon.

Anyone else try Sound Wave therapy? (Binaural Beats)
I have used it while staying away from home/in different time zones (insomnia trigger for me)
It works on Delta/Theta brain waves to induce sleep/relaxation.
Even if I still can't fall asleep...it really puts my mind and body in a relaxed state...which is at least beneficial...and better than tossing and turning.
You can find downloads on youtube...or I am sure there is an app...but I always just stream off of y.t. from my phone. I can post a direct link at anyone's request.
