I recovered from severe anxiety, without drugs. I personally do not feel comfortable taking drugs, and I believe most, if not all, people can recover from anxiety without drugs. My opinion may not be popular, but that was always my gut feeling, and it did work out for me. If you don't want to take 'em, don't!! (Obviously don't just suddenly abruptly stop, as I'm sure u know.)
My therapist told me the same thing, about not reinforcing my anxiety. In my case, she felt that I was loving all the extra affection and attention I would get from my husband during an anxiety attack, lol..... So..... I started going into the guest bedroom and dealing w my anxiety on my own, without him. I think she was right to recommend this.
I get acid reflux too, I still get it, when I am stressed.
Regular Western mds just automatically prescribe drugs to everyone, bec that's the only training and knowledge they have. I feel that drugs only suppress the symptoms, and ignore the root cause of anxiety. More attention should be paid to the human being as a whole, emotionally and energetically, not just suppress the symptom. (I hope I don't get blasted on here for saying this.)
