just afraid of being in house alone

my sister has just left on her trip and will be gone 10 days. she has gone on longer trips, but i guess each time i have to get used to the idea of being alone. i'm terrible at calling people, so i just wind up spending the time alone.

it just takes some getting used to.

the good news is i may have a sponsor in my 12 step program. that will be great, to have someone to open up to.

Hi Rich

I know that your sister leaving for 10 days is anxiety provoking but know that we are all here to support you so keep us updated on how you are doing you are not alone we are all behind you. That's good news about your 12 step program and your right it is good to have someone you can open up to.

Hey Rich,

I agree with you in that being alone = no fun! :) Well, at least not for too long anyway. I do enjoy some time to myself, for sure. Congrats on getting a sponsor! I am sure it is a wonderful feeling to find a friend who gets what you're going through.

Hope you can find a way to make the best of your time alone! Maybe you can find a new hobby or bake a few cakes....! :)

I used to adore alone time but now I HATE it. All it means for me is time to be inside my head and I don't want that. I'm to the point anymore that I take my phone with me almost anywhere to either listen to podcasts or play a game as a distraction. It's really weird and I hope it doesn't stay that way.

I'm sorry you are feeling this way. I'd say just do your best to stay as busy as you can. I'm sitting alone at home right now and I'm on here because I don't want to sit here alone lol.

We are here for you...post everyday!! :) There is also the CHAT feature here if you get lonely/nervous. Sometimes there is no one in the A/P...but you can always ask to join in another forum's discussion. Most people are very accomodating.

Great news about your sponsor, I hope it is a great match!
