Pleural Effusion

So about 4am this morning I jolted awake in serious pain, I'd been having an issue with a pulled muscle on my left side that seemed to move around where it hurt, but also hurt to breathe in. This time however the pain was much worse. So I went to the ER. Blood work ok, chest x-ray ok, CAT scan reveals small pleural effusion. Apparently theres an infection there, so they set me up with Zithromax, and a stronger pain med.

Naturally however I'm very upset, this is something completely new to me so I'm kind of worried about it. But they didn't admit me so it can't be that bad. Being in pain really does trigger my anxiety, I'm filled with what if's now.

Hopefully it clears up soon.

I am sorry to hear of your pain:( Are you feeling any better now?

Have you recently had pneumonia? That could be one explanation for the PE. (another is autoimmune disease caused...so it could be Crohn's related?)

It is good that you went in and got the help that you needed!
