I don't know if anyone is experiencing these symptoms but I'm constantly feeling like I'm in a fog. My head is always tight. And im constantly trying not to have a panic attack. I was just on klonopin but 2 weeks after taking them I couldn't stop vomiting. I lost 30 pounds because I couldn't keep anything down. That lasted for a month. Then they put me on Ativan and I took it for a week and then the same thing happen to me. As soon as I start feeling like something is working for my panic attacks, that's when I start getting this sickness and it last for atleast a month. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm always thinking about dying all the time because I don't want to continue this way. I feel like Im not even a person who likes medicine but I tried to take meds for this and then I get so physically sick. Somebody please help me.

Hi KB and welcome.
I am sorry to hear of your current struggle with anxiety, and with your Rx troubles.
Benzodiazepines are only one class of meds in terms of treating anxiety. While they are really effective for shutting down panic attacks...they're not for everyone, and there are other alternatives to discuss with your doctor. (SSRI's/SNRI's, tetracylic A/D's, aminokeytone A/D's, anxiolytic psychotrophics, beta blockers, antihistamines...ect...)
Also, what other methods of anxiety management are you currently pursuing if any?
Therapy and/or self-help are wonderful tools to help you to deal with your anxiety challenges long term.
If you've not done so already, I highly recommend looking into getting started with these options!
We have some good suggestions for self-help here in our Resources. These are free and easily accessible on our main page, 1st thread.
Post with us anytime. We are here to understand, listen and support anytime.:)

Thankyou for your prompt response. I am going to therapy every week but I don't think it's helping me. I'm being honest. I just want to feel better. I have a medicine phobia so it's hard to take new medication. I have tried ssris and they seem like they bring on a panic attack. But the rest you have mentioned, I have tried. Do you think something is wrong physically. I stay in the doctors and everything comes back fine. I think they are starting to laugh at me because I'm constantly telling them I feel sick.

KB.
How long have you been in therapy? How do you get on with the therapist...does he/she listen, and work specifically with your needs? Do you do CBT type work to lessen your anxious thoughts/worries/symptoms?
If not, these are considerations that maybe you need to make a switch? Not all therapy is appropriate for each individual.
If however, you are finding that your therapist is doing his/her best...and you simply aren't seeing results yes...keep trying. CBT and other therapies can take an average or 10 + sessions to begin to show change/benefit.
Self-help is also something that you could add in to enhance your recovery. I did this in conjunction with my therapy...and found it very helpful!
Do you find you are struggling with health worries? If so...we have some great material for this concern. I will happily post the links for this at your request.
Support really does make a difference! Keep posting with us, and with time and continued effort towards your goals...you are bound to see improvement.
With encouragement!

Hi KB
Good to meet you and welcome to the forum you will find good support here.
Sorry to hear of your struggles with anxiety and Rx troubles it can take time to discover the correct medication that will work well for you and the best person to go through that process with you is a psychiatrist. Medications are not a cure all though so I was pleased to read that you are in therapy as I feel that really is the best way to get on top of your anxiety what kind of therapy are you doing?
SC has already mentioned CBT which is a great therapy as it helps you to discover your triggers to anxiety and then teaches you coping techniques so you can manage your anxiety to a more manageable level. An other great therapy is Mindfulness which is basically learning to do meditation it also has great results but takes a lot of input to master it but it's well worth the time to learn it.
I am glad you have found us and hope you stay with us and keep posting we are here to support you.

I was in a similar health anxiety rut a couple months ago and it was a nightmare. I would stick with the therapy and start meditation techniques to try to calm down. If your tests are all coming back negative then I would focus on the panic attacks.
