Can't find a good dentist

I have actually changed dentists seven times...yes, it sounds crazy redface

I have had two dentists make a mouth guard for the jaw pain I was experiencing. Neither of them got it right! The symptoms got even worse! Argh! mad The third dentist was so arrogant and rude (to both the patients and the staff) I'm never going back to his dental office again! The fourth one was also a weirdo who couldn't seem to answer any of my questions regarding my oral health and treatment plan. The fifth dentist gave me two different estimates on two different occasions for the same proposed treatment plan. rolleyes The sixth one did not bother to examine my teeth and gum thoroughly and the dental hygienist was so rough and sloppy! shocked The last dental office I went to was very unhygienic. nono

So I have spent more than two years looking for a good dentist to get my teeh fixed and I have been postponing the treatment because I cannot find any decent dentists!


Are you happy with your dentist? How long did it take for you to find the right one?

Yikes. Truth? about 20 years. :(

I've been through a bunch of dentists, and because of some of the meds I'm on, I've sent a number of the children of dentists through college all by myself. You're absolutely right. There's quite a variety out there.

Perhaps consider going to a teaching hospital? Some people have reported excellent experiences there. (Unfortunately, I'm not one of them, sorry to say, but lots of others have!)

Word of mouth, ask people you know. Friends or acquaintances who have nice smiles and healthy looking teeth,....ask where they go?

Food for thought that doesn't need to be flossed out...

I like you have had many different dentists until I found my current one who is very good and accommodating of my anxiety as I get very anxious when I goto the dentist. Keep looking and I hope you find one soon.

It's frustrating not being able to find the right dentist/doctor.
Unfortunately, not many people around me care about their oral health as much as I do and they cannot recommend me a good dentist. I will have to keep googling and making phone calls.
