Well I am not yet diagnosed with IBS, since I didn't visit dr or a specialist dr about GI issues.
But I had a strange thing last night, which gave me quite a bit of bad thoughts and slight panic.
I had no digestive issues yesterday, a little discomfort and gas, that's all. Then at night time before going to bed, on empty stomach I for some reason decided to eat 8-10 cashew nuts.
After 10-15 mins I had the worst lower abdomen and back spasms ever and got scared a lot. I almost never have diarrhea, I am mostly on the const. side of the digestion, so I didn't feel the urge to visit. But I had much spasms and discomfort for about an hour.
Then I read on internet that actually when we eat things, even when they are just in our mouth, body sends a signal to intestines to produce suitable enzymes for that type of food so it gets ready for digestion.
So if you eat a no-no food, with that signal your intestines overreact and contract a lot. Also resulting either with constipation or diarrhea.
The solution I read was, if you are not sure about the thing you plan to eat, you can basically eat a soluble fiber food before it, like oat meal or boiled rice, pasta (if your are not gluten intolerant), etc. So Your body sends a signal for the safe food first. Then your intestines will not be overreacting.
I don't know but I read this trick works for some people in order to reduce IBS symptoms.
Well I plan to visit a dr and rule out any other possible things in digestive issues, then I can calmly focus on re-scheduling my diet.
Sorry for the long text <3
