Hi All,
I just ordered a new book and it arrived today. And today happens to be one of my favorite days because (finally) it is raining in California, and to me, the rain symbolizes wiping everything clean for a fresh start. And I find it ironic that my book arrived while it was raining. I am by no means a religious individual in the sense that I pore over a bible, but I do believe in a higher power, and let me just say, God works in mysterious ways. This book is called: "From Panic to Power" by Lucinda Bassett. From the
opening lines of her book, I realized that I could immediately relate to this woman. Sitting closest to the door at a restaurant so as to plot an escape route. Appearing to be a highly functional, confident, and successful woman on the outside, but crumbling from anxiety on the inside. Constantly feeling sick because this anxiety and panic manifests itself in physical symptoms. As I kept reading, a particular line jumped out at me: "Be gentle with yourself." I wanted to share that simple, sweet message with you all. Let this be a reminder to be gentle with yourself. Things will get better, but not if you force them to be. Everything passes, whether we want it to or not. That is life. We will all conquer this silly thing called anxiety, and be here to help those in the future that will suffer.
Just wanted to share.

This is a wonderful book! If I have half a brain, I'll read it again.

That's nice, Sophie. I'm supposed to be reading one called Learned Optimism. Again, too lazy.
A kind person I work with said, "Whatever is bothering you today will not always be a part of your life," or something to that effect.

I like that quote. Reminds me that these emotions will pass. As does everything, apparently. Just broke down to my roommate about
all of these worries I have. She looked at me like a deer in headlights with no where to turn, but she's the first one I've been honest with besides you all

Just ordered this book yesterday! Have been looking for a good book without all the jargon that actually inspires and explains. Sounds like it'll be worth the ten bucks!
