giant hive on face

has anybody ever gotten a huge hive on your face in the same place every now and then? I thought it was always after a day after I ate shrimp but tonight I actually bought shrimp and hadn't even take a bite of it yet. Stress maybe?

I know they can appear anywhere... regardless of what causes the hives, taking Benedryl is a solution...you can take two at a time... Yes, I know you may feel a little tired...or maybe not... depending upon what you are working on or up to! But it will work! I know this is what doctors' advise. Sorry this is happening and good luck to you!

I guess that you know eating something you're allergic too can KILL You... That pleasant thought should cause all sorts of stress.

Did you handle the shrimp with your bare hands?

Yeah but it was breaded. In the past was only sometimes and days after. Prolly coincidence.

Yes, I get random hives...sometimes only one or two on face/chest area...

...but sometimes all over.

This past fall, I ate a seafood salad, and later went on a run. It was hot and I was pretty sweaty, and when I got home, I was covered in hives! This exact circumstance has happened before! (Benadryl helped)

I think that with allegic reactions, the combination of triggers is different for the individual at different times...and stress definitely is a factor.

I can eat seafood, and I can work out/sweat...but sometimes doing both will cause a reaction...?

Hope last night was the end of the hives for you.:)

okay so I'm getting sick and I was sucking on a Thieves lozenge which has natural essential oils in it and I've tried a few before in the past so all the sudden I get another humongous hive on my face. This is stressing me out because I don't know what they're caused from. now I'm afraid of course to eat the lozenges which I think may help my throat it's so frustrating to not know and now that my throat is scratchy and making me nervous because I think is it my throat closing up maybe Because I ate something I was allergic to But im sure its not-that's just my Worried way of thinking. But its been like this for like 4 or 5 hours already. That scratchy feeling before you get a bad sore throat or the beginning of an illness.

this is so dumb but I hate going to sleep when I'm sick because I don't want to wake up feeling worse. ha Dumb

Sorry to hear you have been getting hives they are very annoying before christmas I was breaking out in hives all over my body but never got to find out what the cause was and put it down to stress and they stopped as quickly as they came and touch wood they don't come back.

I found that taking antihistamines kept them under control and stopped the excessive itch that comes along with hives.

I hope you feel better soon.
