all different illnesses. some can be interelated. only a therapist/psychiatrist/gp can determine this. root cause. (with guidance by the individual) the treatment without medication would be dependent on the individual and how they are managing their condition, medical factors-environmental and personal situations. this would be best discussed with a treating professional.

Although I think they can co-exist, they're separate. As already stated, only a doctor or therapist can make that diagnosis. I personally feel like I have both anxiety and depression because when my anxiety is flaring up, I feel really down because of it and tend to withdraw to myself, BUT don't like to be alone for fear of something happening and nobody would know to help. It sucks for sure. Hope you feel better!

I know in my case I can have anxiety without any depression, but it seems like I always have more anxiety when I am depressed.
I also suffer from PTSD, and that is probably something that only therapy will really help me get over, because even though the trauma is essentially gone, the events still linger even if only on a sub-conscience level.
As of late my Depression has been SO SO much better, but my anxiety has been a bit more than usual. I think I am handling the anxiety so much better because I am able to not feel so hopeless with the depression, and I know the anxiety will pass(and I have xanax)which thankfully I don't take the dose that I am prescribed, only as needed, some days are different than others.

GAD, panic, OCD, PTSD all fall within the anxiety spectrum.
Depression is often co-morbid with anxiety...but as the others mentioned, these are seperate disorders that are sometimes treated similarly.
Whether or not they can be treated without meds is up to the individual. I found therapy and self help to be sufficient for me...but many people have more need, and may never feel a full recovery without an Rx. This is due on part to an individual's unique brain chemistry and physical make-up

There are differences and similarities. Anxiety is usually a common ground for a lot of what you listed, but can certainly exist independently.
There are so many alternative options to medication- breathing exercises, essential oils, meditation, yoga, etc

These are the different illness and there are different treatments to solve the problems. The symptoms are even different. Get in detail about
the differences between all these i.e anxiety, pain, depression
here

Hi
As others have already mentioned these are different diagnosis and illness although they can run side by side with each other especially anxiety and depression.
With regards to medication it is really down to personal choice wether to take something or not but for a lot of people it can help to get their symptoms under control so they can then benefit more from talking therapy such as CBT or Mindfulness.

They can be all related but need different diagnosis indeed. Medication treatment for anxiety and depression related issues are pretty much close to each other. But therapy techniques may differ. Yes, without medication, therapy alone can be very effective when it comes to treating anxiety/GAD/depression/OCD, etc... But it is more effective together with meds and this is recommended.
It depends of the severity of your condition also, which only your dr can decide.
There are some conditions which can share the diagnosis with some other issues, Health Anxiety as a good example.
For many years scientists discussed about
under which condition it had to be listed. Since it is a relative to anxiety disorders and OCD, also at the same time may bring depression with it, they decided to label it under anxiety issues. I read once that for many years it wasn't even a condition alone, it was thought to be related to Phobias and OCD only. A recent study relates it with the "somatic symptom disorder". It seems...
Oh God, I would be surprised if my issues were less complicated than this... -.-' *sigh*

I agree with what many have already said. They are not the same but can be buddies. I have social anxiety and depression. I've used medication and therapy and am now currently not using medication. I believe they can be treated without meds but it depends on the person
