I fear touching things in bathrooms, so it is a daunting task to turn the water on with a paper towel, push the soap with a paper towel, turn off the water with a paper towel,
open the door with a paper towel.
I believe most STD's have a very short "shelf" life on a toilet seat, and the situation would have to be ideal. I remember being scared that I could get HIV from smoking after someone, so I called the HIV hotline, they didn't laugh at me but said I would have to have an
open wound in my mouth, there would have to be body fluid on the cigarette(which I'm sure I would have noticed a clot hanging off of a cig)...etc etc, but I do understand how it can kind of make your skin crawl.
