Yes!! I would call them and tell them to book you an appointment. What they are doing there is just not right.

One of the things that drives me bonkers is non-hospitable employees. I am really not sure if I am just too picky, but I would feel very uncared for if an employee put me on a cancellation list with nothing solid on the books. However, the employee may genuinely think that an appointment will come open in the 2-4 week timeframe that your therapist wanted to see you in. It may just be the way they handle things in their office. I would wait to hear from them, and if you don't hear from them in 2-3 days, call back and ask for some accountability for them to stick to their word. I'm not sure if that's "right" but that's likely how I would handle the situation!

I also would call and make them make me an appointment and remain on the cancellation list. I have never heard of such a thing. My shrink always says come back in 4 weeks, however that never happens cause he is always booked 2 months in advance, so I just make the appt for 2 months.

There have been times with other doctors that they have scheduled me for an appointment, but told me they would call me if they got a cancellation before hand....so I am puzzled as to why she refused to schedule me, other than the fact that I did admit to saying how rude the staff has been, but as I told my Psychiatrist "...I'm not here to see your staff, I am here to see you, but they are incredibly rude to the point that my own therapist put it on my "to do list" to call and speak to an office manager and let them know how they are treating you, because you are not the only one with this complaint..."

So I call today, and the receptionist answered I told her that I was supposed to be on the cancellation list and she was supposed to call me by today, she said she would call me later, I told her I don't understand why you didn't just schedule me for an appointment just in case no one cancelled, keep in mind I called her two weeks ago and she said if she scheduled me I wouldn't get in till the middle of February, so today she told me "I will go ahead and schedule you, I can't get you in till March 3rd"...I was like "really?.....when I called you last it was February...." then she keeps saying my name while I am trying to talk to her "Brenda....Brenda.....Brenda" I was bewildered with her behavior. She said she would call me back by the end of the day.

So I said okay and called the main office, the let me speak to the manager she was dumbfounded with this ladies behavior, she looked on her computer and they had a couple openings for February 3rd, she implied they have a lot of issues with this receptionist and the manager scheduled me for this Tuesday. The manager was very apologetic for the way I was treated and told me basically it is just a matter of time for this receptionist, they already fired the office manager after reviewing the video of the altercation she had with my daughter where she was in my daughters face...

A few minutes later I get a call from this nasty receptionist and she say the manager double booked for that day that they couldn't see me till 4:15 pm, so I was like "is that the only time you have available?" she said I have a 9:15, so I did take that one.

I guess I am just amazed at how badly this girl has treated me, but they are well aware of the problems with her and are taking action.

Thank you Angel, my Psychiatrist informed on our last visit that the office staff did not like me because I gave them a poor rating on face book(which was apparently the wrong page for this company, the lady that has the face book page says she used to own this company)

Long story short, this girl is deliberately doing this, the manager knew she was because they had several appointments available before March 3rd, I told the manager what I did, I did give the "staff" a bad review, not my Psychiatrist, I believe he is doing the best he can, and he does not hire the staff, she agreed he is not responsible for who they hire, because he is hired by them.

So I will see my Psychiatrist and tell him how incredibly wonderful I am doing, and let him know how very thankful I am that he stayed my doctor, I don't have to like his staff to see him, I will respect them as I always have, but I will tell anyone, they are rude unprofessional and need some Customer Service training. I worked in the Customer service field for years and would have been fired immediately if I behaved like these people do, that is why I treated everyone with respect and was always receiving pins for high customer satisfaction, regardless of how a customer approached me, I handled them with respect and dignity, every human being is entitled to this.
