When people tell you that you don't look well

How do you handle this?

Yesterday I had a therapy appointment and she said she could tell from my face that I was having a hard time with my anxiety. I truly wasn't and have been feeling better more days than not.

Also, this past holiday my father said I looked tired and stressed. So from that comment I bought new glasses that hide the darker circles under my eyes that concealer can't cover enough of. The line from my other glasses fell below the dark lines and my new ones sit on the line and hide it better.

Now I think it's hard to hide my anxiety on my face and this bothers me.

"Uh, I feel fine...what's your excuse?!?"

Kidding of course...you can't say that! (but don't we wish we could!)

I think people mean well when they say these kinds of things...but it is really in poor conduct to do so...

I mean if it's your family, that's one thing...I am sure your dad was just showing his concern.

...but for a person we don't know well to say this is really inexcusable.

I think that I would handle it as if they simply asked how I am doing, as say...

"I am fine, how are you?"

...the old change the subject and move on tatic. ;p

Sorry this happened. I am sure that you look just fine...just ignore the unfortunate comments!
