I am sorry to hear of your trouble with your Rx, and your continued challenges with finding the right anxiety management plan for yourself.
You mention getting started in seeing a psychiatrist, and I think this sounds like a solid plan...
...for one, he/she will have a better knowledge of psychiatric meds than a GP...
...and your P-doc will likely be able to make an excellent therapy referral for you.
I do believe that along with medications, therapy and self-help need to be employed for the best rounded treatment, and recovery plan.
