Yes, this sounds familiar to me...and I am sure many others here.
Increased HR is a normal and necessary effect of anxiety. In a situation where our safety depended on it...this would be an important part of the fight or flight response.
However, for anxiety sufferers. ..these signals get triggered easily, and we end up with inappropriate symptoms... that are uncomfortable but controllable.
It is good that your meds helped bring your pulse back down. You can also get good and similar results with the use of coping skills, so be sure to check out some great ones in our Resources.
