Worst Panic Attack yet!!

I've been on Zoloft, 25mg for three days, I just experienced my WORST Panic attack yet, now my chest is sore ( both upper sides, just a pressure more than sore) and my neck a little, I'm thinking it's from being so tense, I heard Zoloft makes things worse before it makes things better, but this is ridiculous!! I've got health anxiety, so now that my chest has a dull pressure , it's causing me to still be so freaking anxious... my arms feels weak, not like I can't pick anything up weak, just weak like I just woke up.. ): I was wondering if anyone could just tell me your stories of being on Zoloft?

Melissuh, I have never taken Zoloft, but I am on Lexapro. I definitely felt worse, and even told my husband I felt the meds were making me worse. I stuck with it though, and it has gotten better.

I'm in a horrible panic attack right now myself, and I'm hoping reading and trying to help others will help me too.

Thinking of you, and hoping you can stick it out, and that the meds level out for you soon. Remember, it really does take 6 - 8 weeks to get used to a med like these.

Thank you, yes, I keep reminding myself of that. Telling myself it'll be worth it to maybe feel like myself again, I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old, I can't keep living like this, I've had tests to rule out heart problems ( how my anxiety started ) but it's just gotten worse even with the results coming back good... the brain and body are just weird.. and I've never had the chest pain, that's new, I suffer from chest pain anyway cause of costochondritis, but never because of a panic attack. I hope you're feeling better and your attack went away!

I'm on Zoloft but I started with 6 mg I had to cut the 25 in four , because I was terrified of what your experiencing I didn't want the extra anxiety I was in a bad state when I started , I was getting daily panic attacks and I couldn't handle anything else so I slowly started and upped to 25mg total of one month period .
I think the fact that I took a while and with low doses that's why my side effects were minimal to none , and I went from daily panic attacks to very rarely get really anxious but no panic attacks in 3 months .
I've had some headaches but that's it as far as side effects go .
Zoloft helped me more than I can explain!

I've been on Zoloft (100 mg) for eight years now and I remember feeling this way. Like I was in a panic fog for a hot minute before things got better. And they did-- they got MUCH Better! Give it time. You will adjust and so will your body.

That dull pain is definitely from tense muscles. A warm bath with some lavendar oil and breathing exercises always does the trick :)

How long are you planning to stay on it ? I'm just curious how long people stay on ssris and if it's bad for our bodies in any way

I take zoloft, and 25 mg's is normally the start-up dose. I did feel more panicky the first few days, but it does get better. I've been on it a few times throughout my life, and it does seem to make me a little antsy for a while.

I am on 100mg and feel it doesn't help, but we all respond differently to medications. Blood relatives can even respond differently so I have heard. You have to give it at least 30 days to work.
