bad dreams with prozac?

Has anyone else had bad dreams taking prozac and do they go away eventually? Been irritable?
My daughter is into her 2nd week, changing over from Lexapro, just reduced to 10mg Lexapro and still at 20mg prozac. She feels very irritable and has bad dreams every night. She takes Lexapro at night and prozac in the morning.

I was on Prozac for the better part of 6 or 7 months until recently. Only recall one instance of having bad dreams while taking it. I was very irritable while on it though.

Yes, nightmares are a side effect of prozac and sorry to say it's hard to say if they will go away or not. I think watching a mindfulness video before bed would help her some. Irritability is also a side effect, but it could also be a side effect from her reduced dosage of lexapro. I'd give it a couple more weeks and see if goes away, if it is bothersome for her tell her to call her prescribing doctor and tell him.

Sorry to hear your daughter is having bad dreams I also suffer with those but put it down to my anxiety/ocd not the medication although I do know that it can be a side effect of both Prozac and Lexapro. As AL said give it a couple more weeks and if things don't improve go and speak with your doctor
