Hello!
Has anyone tried colour to ease anxiety and to relax? I'm wondering if it works- especially before going to bed. I've read reviews on some of the adult colouring books and they seem like they can help.
Trying to keep myself occupied while I wait for my next apt!
Any one else try this or something similar?

Coloring has always been relaxing for me.

Yes I just bought pencil crayons and a big colouring book. It does help calm the mind by giving it something to focus on other than the anxiety.
I love horses so I bought a big horse themed book (adult version so it is more intricate). Pick something that interests you and that you can get into so you don't tire of it too quick.
I thought it might seem odd to people at first but I found out a couple of my older cousins colour too and I got my boyfriend Into it too. You can do it alongside your kids as well.
Have fun!

If you can focus on it, yeah. It is a perfect distraction for anxiety :)
I am an artist but my problem is I lack focusing during anxious periods, since drawing/painting requires flawless attention :/
If you have a chance to try coloring, please keep us updated about
it's effects on your anxiety <3

Hi
Welcome to the forum.
I goto an art therapy group on a Monday morning and do find that art and colouring in really helps to focus the mind so would definitely recommend it

So colouring seems to help my HA. I can calm down most evenings when I colour. Anxiety is high right now as my appt. is in two days. I've been colouring when I can, it's relaxing.
I have a mandela book as well as the Secret Garden. Both keeps my mind off things.
